Warriors’ Season Concludes at NAIA Championships

WICHITA, Kan. – Midland University saw its season come to a close this weekend at the 2025 NAIA Women's Wrestling Championship in Wichita, Kansas. The Warriors had three wrestlers competing in the national tournament.

At 124 pounds, Emily Paulino opened her tournament with a 6-2 loss to Ellabelle Taylor of Evergreen State. In the consolation bracket, she was eliminated after an 11-0 tech fall loss to Malia Welch of Southern Oregon.

Keira Nartatez, wrestling in the 131-pound division, faced a tough draw in her opening match, falling by tech fall (10-0) to third-seeded Xochitl Mota-Pettis of Missouri Valley. After advancing with a bye in the consolation bracket, she was pinned by Larissa Kaz of Hastings in 3:38.

Makena Schramm represented Midland at 145 pounds, beginning her tournament with a 7-2 decision loss to Lisa Hoeflich of Hastings. She advanced in the consolation round via a bye but was later pinned by No. 6-seeded Anastasia Hardin of Missouri Baptist at the 4:38 mark.

With no wrestlers advancing to the podium, Midland's season officially came to an end on Friday at the national tournament.
