Warriors Claim Seventh Straight Sweep at Collegiate Nationals
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Midland University delivered another dominant performance on the national stage over the weekend, sweeping both the raw and equipped team titles at the 2026 USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals.
The Warrior women captured the national championship in the raw division with 72 points and followed with an equally impressive showing in the equipped division, totaling 84 points to secure the title.
The sweep marks the seventh consecutive season Midland has claimed both team championships and pushes the program's total to 15 national titles, including eight straight in the raw division dating back to 2019.
Midland's success was fueled by a deep and balanced lineup, as 26 athletes recorded top-three finishes in their respective weight classes.
Leading the way with individual national titles were Alexis Iglesias (346 kg.), Lily Falcone (380 kg.), Calista Kumm (425 kg.), Jen Benavidez (576 kg.), Madison Rock (459 kg.), Jenna Maler (542.5 kg.), Peyton Busteed (552.5 kg.), Brylee Batiste (507.5 kg.), Jiselle Olivarez (605 kg.), Tee Pace (637.5 kg.), and Aaliyah Henry (547.5 kg.).
Midland also added runner-up performances from Brylee Ross (252.5 kg.), Ashley Lopez (350 kg.), Jessica Haggerty (435 kg.), Kaitlin Tagle (527.5 kg.), Madison Garcia (470 kg.), Brooke Ruland (480 kg.), Jaycee Barnes (480 kg.), Karson Oliver (635 kg.), and Tay Smith (497.5 kg.).
Third-place finishes came from Hannah Hernandez (375 kg.), Niquela Vallejos (395 kg.), Kay'D Leal (360 kg.), Cali Cordova (470 kg.), Leah Warner (477.5 kg.), and Angelina Calzada (592.5 kg.), further highlighting the program's depth across multiple divisions.
With points accumulated across nearly every weight class, the Warriors separated themselves from the field in both divisions, continuing a run of sustained excellence that has become synonymous with Midland powerlifting.
Midland's latest sweep reinforces its status as one of the premier programs in collegiate powerlifting, extending a dynasty that shows no signs of slowing.
