Warriors Take to Track and Field at South Dakota Challenge
VERMILLION, S.D. – Midland University continued its outdoor season on Saturday with a strong showing at the South Dakota Challenge, hosted by the University of South Dakota.
Kerrigan Myers led the way for the Warriors with a runner-up finish in the 100-meter hurdles. She crossed the line in 13.96 seconds, hitting the NAIA "B" Standard in the event.
In the women's 800-meter run, Nevaeh Sarabia was the top finisher for Midland, placing fifth with a time of 2:27.93. She was followed by Joy Jepkorir in eighth (2:38.36), Carly Carstens in ninth (2:39.53), and Madison Bergstrom in 10th (2:48.61).
In the field events, Farrah Wilson finished 10th in the triple jump with a leap of 10.17 meters, while Sara Diew placed 10th in the discus with a throw of 39.63 meters.
Midland will divide its squad next week, with athletes set to compete at three different meets: the Red Raider Open in Orange City, Iowa (April 16–17), the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kansas (April 17–19), and the Loper Invitational in Kearney, Nebraska (April 19).
