GPAC Indoor Championships Yield Ninth Place Finish for Warriors
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Midland University wrapped up the regular season Friday and Saturday at the GPAC Indoor Championships in Sioux Center. Multiple athletes earned all-conference honors, with the team placing ninth.
Sara Diew earned all-conference honors with a third-place finish in the weight throw, recording a mark of 17.00 meters.
In the high jump, a pair of Warriors earned All-GPAC honors. Meike Lahuis tied for sixth at 1.56 meters while Krista Hardy cleared a season's best 1.66 meters to win the high jump crown. She reached the NAIA B Standard in the process as well.
Maite Farin placed ninth in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in 19:15.75.
Tanja Zubrod finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 58.90 seconds, earning all-conference recognition. Her performance ranks third all-time in Midland program history.
Next month, Midland will travel to Gainesville, Florida, to compete at the NAIA Indoor National Championships from March 5-7.
