Warriors Compete Against No. 15 William Woods

FULTON, Mo. – Midland University hit the road this past weekend to faceoff against No. 15-ranked William Woods University at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex in Fulton, Missouri. Facing one of the top teams in the region, the Warriors fell to the Owls 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.

William Woods took all three matchups to earn the doubles point and then won four singles matches. Elaina Fanton earned a comeback victory at No. 2s, overcoming a first-set loss to triumph over Mireia Simon Sanchez (1-6, 6-3, 6-4). Additionally, Graziela Dallagnol earned the win at No. 4s, where she battled through a tightly contested opening set before dominating the second set (7-6, 6-2).

Midland (7-4, 1-0 GPAC) will return to conference play this weekend when it travels to face Mount Marty (0-3, 0-1 GPAC) on Friday. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. up in Yankton, South Dakota.
