Warriors Nearly Unbeatable in Victory Over Kansas Wesleyan

FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University hosted Kansas Wesleyan University at the Fremont Family YMCA in a nonconference dual this weekend. The Warriors cruised past the Coyotes, winning 7-0.

Midland asserted its dominance early in the match by clinching the team point through a strong showing in the doubles competition. At the No. 1 doubles position, the pairing of Ari Lumanog and Elaina Fanton came away with a 6-4 victory over the duo of McKinnley Evans and Alivia Sherer. Meanwhile, at the No. 2 doubles spot, Kissmel Cedano Lapaix and Grace Felder demonstrated their prowess with a commanding 6-1 win against Michaela Crowe and Camrynn Bagwell. KWU won the No. 3s matchup via a tiebreaker set.

The Warriors' momentum carried into the singles matches as they continued to showcase their skill and determination. In No. 1 singles, Ari Lumanog exhibited exceptional play, overcoming Michaela Crowe with a scoreline of 6-2, 7-5. Elaina Fanton replicated the success at No. 2 singles, defeating Kristi Henderson with a convincing score of 6-2, 6-2.

Midland's depth and talent were evident throughout the singles lineup, with Graziela Dallagnol securing a victory at No. 3 singles over Alivia Sherer (6-2, 6-4), Grace Felder dominating at No. 4 singles against McKinnley Evans (6-0, 6-2), and Jeena Carle displaying her skills with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles over Danielle Slack.

The final victory for the Warriors came at No. 6 singles, where Krystal Olson delivered an impressive performance, emerging triumphant with a score of 6-3, 6-0 against Camrynn Bagwell.

Midland will look to build upon its momentum in a couple of weeks when it travels to take on Bethel and McPherson down in Kansas. The Warriors will compete against the pair of nonconference foes on Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2.
