(RV) Warriors Sweep Broncos; Win Streak Reaches 13 in GPAC

HASTINGS, Neb. - Midland University traveled to Hastings College facing off against another Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) foe on Wednesday afternoon. The Warriors got their brooms out and swept the Broncos 7-0 pushing their GPAC win streak to 13 (since 2022). Midland takes another improving step putting their overall record at 14-3 and 5-0 in the conference. Hastings drops under .500 with a 7-8 overall record and 1-5 in the GPAC.  

Ivett Castaneda and Kristina Khmelevskaia at No. 2s started the clean-up with a 6-1 set win over Paige Willcoxon and Sasha Richards. No. 3s Grace Felder and Macee Thompson enjoyed their win defeating Emma Markle and Maddie Ketcham 6-2, while No. 1s Ari Lumanog and Graziela Dallagnol finished off the doubles matches with a win over Theresa Price and Samantha Worthington (6-4).  

No. 1 Lumanog came out with confidence giving her all for the win over Price 6-0, 6-3. Khmelevskaia at No. 2 followed with a 6-0, 6-4 defeat of Richards as No. 3 Castaneda won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 over Worthington giving the Warriors the team win.  

Dallagnol at No. 4 picked up where the first three finished with a win over Willcoxon 6-2, 6-1. No. 5 Grace Felder picked up her twelfth win of the season over Ketcham 6-2, 6-0 as No. 6 Lainie Fanton picked up her fifteenth win of the season over Jenna Davison 6-3, 6-1.  

Midland (14-3, 5-0 GPAC) will travel to face Doane (9-12, 5-1 GPAC) in their final road match of the regular season. The two teams will spin their racquets at 11:00 a.m. for an all-important GPAC match in Crete, Nebraska on Saturday, April 22.
