Warriors Cap Season at NAIA Championships

ELKHART, Ind. – Midland University wrapped up its season in the pool, competing at the 2025 NAIA Championships at the Elkhart Aquatics Center. The Warriors placed 20th as a team, with three athletes representing the program.

Rachel Sims recorded Midland's top finish of the meet, placing seventh in the 1-meter diving event. She posted a score of 144.15 in the preliminaries to secure her spot in the finals, where she improved to 155.40 to maintain her position.

Mya Nemechek qualified for one event final while competing in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, and 100-yard backstroke. She placed 36th in the 50 free with a time of 25.01 seconds and finished 21st in the 100 free in 53.43. In the 100 backstroke, she earned a spot in the finals after posting a time of 58.29 seconds in the preliminaries, finishing 13th. She went on to place 16th in the final, touching the wall in 58.82.

Rounding out the Warriors' performances, Dominique Cos competed in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events. She placed 23rd in the 100 breast preliminaries with a time of 1:07.51. In the 200 breast, she finished 13th in the prelims with a time of 2:24.94 before maintaining her position in the final, clocking in at 2:24.50.
