Warriors Wrap up Semester with Dual at St. Ambrose
DAVENPORT, Iowa – Midland University and St. Ambrose University took to the pool at Central Natatorium on Saturday, competing in a head-to-head dual. The Bees showcased their depth as they defeated the Warriors, 218 to 49.
Despite the overall team outcome, Midland's Lily Harrell emerged victorious in the 200-yard backstroke, clocking in at an impressive 2:19.15. In the 1650-yard freestyle, Joelle Zipp claimed the second spot with a time of 21:32.24, while Blake Patton followed closely, taking third place in 23:19.11. Patton also showcased her skills in the 500-yard freestyle, earning a third-place finish with a time of 6:37.85.
Sophia Gurrieri contributed to the Warriors'' performance with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 2:12.20. Mya Nemechek displayed her prowess by securing second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.66 and repeating the feat in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:01.91.
Lilli Heaston placed third in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 26.04. Abby Ertz secured third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.84.
Midland will have some time off before their next challenge, a home dual against the College of Saint Mary scheduled for Saturday, January 13.
