Pires Earns GPAC Weekly Honor

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced this week's Women's Soccer Players of the Week for contests played September 23-29, 2024. Kyla Pires of Midland University was selected as the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week while Karinna Tel of Dordt University garnered offensive honors.

Pires, a senior from Myrtle Creek, Oregon, picked up a pair of clean sheets for the Warriors this week. She was instrumental in helping Midland to 4 points with a win and a draw. In the win against Morningside on Saturday, she had a pair of crucial diving stops and finished with 10 saves on the week.

This weekend, Midland will travel to take on Waldorf on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
