Warriors Well-Represented on All-KCAC Teams

WICHITA, Kan. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) has announced the 2024 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference teams and individual award winners. These honors were voted on by the women's lacrosse head coaches. Midland University had a total of six players named to the All-KCAC Team, with three earning first-team honors and three being named to the second team.

Madilynn Edwards, a senior from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, had a stellar senior season for the Warriors. She scored or assisted on a goal in every game this season, tallying 29 goals with 8 assists in 13 games. She added 40 ground balls as well, second-most on the team.

Shay Peterson, a senior from St. George, Utah, played in all 13 games and was a mainstay in the defensive zone in her second season as a Warrior. She picked up 21 ground balls and had 13 caused turnovers while adding a pair of goals on the attack.

Anika Turner, a sophomore from Kingwood, Texas, was a force to be reckoned with all over the field. Through 13 games played, she had 6 goals with 2 assists on the attack and added 27 ground balls,15 draw controls, and a team-high 21 caused turnovers.

Caitlin Bowers, a junior from Blue Springs, Missouri, played in all 13 games for Midland this year and made her mark on the defensive side of the field. She was routinely tasked with matching up with the opponent's top offensive threat. She was credited with 7 caused turnovers along with 16 groundballs while adding three goals on the offensive end.

Chloe Harrison, a junior from Clermont, Florida, was the second-leading scorer this season with 20 goals and 4 assists. She had three hat tricks this year, including a four-goal game against Northwestern at home. She led the Warriors in ground balls with 46 and added 17 draw controls to go with 19 caused turnovers.

Madigan Marusiak, a freshman from Benton, Arkansas, started all 13 games in her first season of collegiate lacrosse. She scored 11 goals with 7 assists in the offensive zone while picking up 18 ground balls and forcing a pair of turnovers. She had a hat trick twice, with three goals against Madonna and three against Mount Mercy.

Missouri Baptist University earned the regular-season conference title behind a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play. The Spartans took home two individual awards, as Lydia Cornett was named the KCAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year and Amelia Shaw was named the KCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Mackenzie Simmons of Ottawa University was named the KCAC Offensive Player of the Year while Ashley Reid of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy was named the KCAC Women's Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
