Warriors Sweep KCAC Weekly Honors
WICHITA, Kan. – Midland University's Madilynn Edwards and Anika Turner have earned the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 18-24 by a vote of conference sports information directors.
Edwards, a senior from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, scored multiple goals and added an assist in both games for the Warriors this week. She netted six goals against Mount Mercy on Wednesday and then added two more against St. Ambrose on Friday. She has now run her scoring streak to 32 games as a Warrior.
Turner, a sophomore from Kingwood, Texas, had 5 groundballs and 6 caused turnovers for Midland the week. In addition to her play in the defensive zone, she added a goal and an assist against Mount Mercy and won 3 total draw controls in the middle circle.
