Midland Takes 11th at Doane Invite
FREMONT, Neb. — Midland University returned to action this week at the Kaitlyn Erickson/Doane Invite, finishing 11th out of 13 teams with a two-round total of 238 over par.
The Warriors were led by Brynn Knaus, who placed 36th in a field of 71 golfers. She opened the tournament with a 27-over-par round before improving by nine strokes with an 18-over-par performance in the second round, finishing at 45 over.
Tessa Nicholson finished 47th, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 ninth hole during her opening round en route to a 34-over-par score. She followed with a 21-over-par round to finish at 55 over.
Callie Maguire placed 60th after posting rounds of 32 over and 35 over, finishing at 67 over. Isabel Brown rounded out the Warriors, placing 63rd after improving from 41 over in the first round to 30 over in the second.
Midland will look to build on this performance as it continues its spring season at the Waterloo Intercollegiate on April 17-18 in Waterloo, Iowa.
