Warriors Compete at Concordia Spring Invitational
LINCOLN, Neb. — Midland University continued its spring schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday, traveling to Lincoln to compete in the Concordia Spring Invitational at Highlands Golf Course.
The Warriors did not record a team score, as they were short a competitor on Wednesday and had just three golfers compete in the third and final round of the 54-hole event.
Leading the way individually was Brynn Knaus, who joined the golf team after winning a national championship with the hockey team. She finished tied for 48th out of 66 golfers with a total of 62-over-par 278. Knaus shot a 21-over 93 in her opening round with four pars, then followed with rounds of 20-over 92 and 21-over 93.
Fellow hockey player Callie Maguire was Midland's next-best finisher. After opening with a 22-over 94, she carded rounds of 26-over 98 and 33-over 105 — including a birdie on the par-4 16th hole — to finish with a total of 81-over-par 297 and place 57th.
Tessa Cunningham was the only other golfer to complete all three rounds, finishing 65th with a total of 114-over-par. She recorded rounds of 42-over 114, 37-over 109, and 35-over 107.
Isabel Brown competed in the first two rounds, posting scores of 30-over 102 and 31-over 103, but did not participate in the final round.
The Warriors will regroup and prepare for another trip to Lincoln on April 13-14, when they compete in the Kaitlyn Erickson Doane Invite.
