Warriors Finish Ninth in Season Opener

OMAHA, Neb. – Midland University started its fall season at the Matthew Goette Fall Classic on Monday. The 18-hole tournament was hosted by the College of Saint Mary at Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha. The Warriors placed ninth as a team with a team score of 444 (+156). Isabel Brown shot the best round, shooting a 98 (+26).

Jocelyn Kumm scored back-to-back birdies on holes three and four while carding a score of 101 (+29) on the round. Olivia Fedde had a score of 118 (+46) while Brooklyn Reynolds finished her round with a 127 (+55) to round out the women representing Midland.

Mount Marty was able to pull out the win, shooting 351 (+63) to beat out the College of Saint Mary by five strokes. Hastings' Kya Shatzer was the individual winner with a round of 80 (+8).

Midland will be back in action on September 30 at the two-day Mount Marty Invitational. The event will be held in Yankton, South Dakota at Tatanka Golf Course.
