Warriors Wrap up Season at USBC Sectionals
ADDISON, Ill. – Midland University traveled over the weekend to compete in the Intercollegiate Singles and Team Sectionals in Addison, Illinois. The Warriors had two bowlers compete in the singles competition on Friday, while the team finished 19th out of 22 teams in the team competition on Saturday and Sunday.
Kayleigh McKenzie was Midland's top finisher, recording a total pinfall of 1,196 over six games to place 40th out of 215 bowlers. She bowled three games over 210, including a high of 221 in her fourth game. The Warriors' other competitor, Ashland Hoyt, finished in 194th place with a total score of 941 after six games.
In the team competition, Midland sat in 18th place after 16 games before dropping to 20th after their 48th game. The Warriors climbed back to 19th place over the final 12 games, finishing with a total pinfall of 10,475 after 60 Baker games. They closed out the competition strong, surpassing 200 in three of their final five games, including a single-game high of 237 in their 56th game.
