Warriors Wrap Up Weekend with Strong Showing

TOPEKA, Kan. – Midland University competed in a pair of one-day tournaments over the weekend in Topeka, Kansas. The events followed a Baker-style format, in which bowlers from each team took turns rolling each frame to complete a game.

On Saturday, the Warriors placed ninth in total pinfall at the NAIA West Open #1 before earning fifth place in the NAIA West Open #2 on Sunday.

In the NAIA West Open #1, Midland bowled five sets—25 games total—in team play, finishing with a total pinfall of 4,816 to secure fifth place.

On Sunday, the Warriors bowled five sets (25 games) of Baker-style play, where five bowlers took turns rolling each frame. Midland recorded a total pinfall of 4,513, bringing their weekend total to 8,689 and securing a fifth-place finish in the NAIA West Open #2.

Midland will return to action next weekend, Feb. 8-9, at the McKendree Baker Challenge in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
