Warriors Finish Semester in Las Vegas; Compete in Pair of Events

LAS VEGAS – Midland University traveled to Nevada last week to compete in a pair of tournaments ahead of the Christmas break. The Warriors posted a team score of 6,812 to finish 28th out of 38 teams at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational. They followed that with a 19th-place finish at the Collegiate Shoot-Out, totaling 7,299 pins.

At the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational, Bailee Spriggs led Midland with a 53rd-place finish out of 263 bowlers. Her highest game score was 235, achieved in her eighth and final game, contributing to an average of 185.38 and a total score of 1,483.

Emily Ziegler was the next best performer for the Warriors, bowling a high game of 210. She finished 86th with an average score of 175 and a total score of 1,400.

Ashland Hoyt placed 151st with an average score of 154.29 and a total of 1,080, while Leia Miller averaged 168.67 for three games, finishing 211th with a total score of 506.

Kaylee Taylor finished 216th with a total score of 479 and an average of 159.67 for three games. Hannah Bowling followed in 218th, averaging 152.33 for three games and totaling 457.

In the Las Vegas Collegiate Shoot-Out, Spriggs once again led the way for Midland, finishing 46th in a field of 282 bowlers. She scored above 150 in all five games, averaging 185.6 for a total of 928.

Hannah Bowling and Hoyt followed closely, finishing 51st and 53rd, respectively. Bowling opened with a strong score of 216, averaging 184.6 and totaling 923 pins. Hoyt maintained consistent scores, averaging 183.6 with a total of 918.

Ziegler placed 68th, averaging 178 for a total score of 890, while Kayleigh McKenzie finished 115th, averaging 160.6 for a total of 803.

The Warriors will return to action in 2025, competing at the Kohawk Invitational on January 25 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
