Groninga Earns All-America Honor
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2026 NAIA Softball All-Americans, Player and Pitcher of the Year honors following the World Series last week in Columbus, Ga. Midland University's Mackenzie Groninga has been named a 2026 NAIA Second Team All-American.
Groninga was one of the nation's most decorated pitchers after helping lead the Warriors to a 43-16 record, a share of the GPAC regular-season championship, the GPAC Tournament title, and an eighth consecutive NAIA Opening Round appearance.
Groninga, a sophomore from Blair, Nebraska, finished the year with a 26-5 record and a 1.52 earned-run average across 34 appearances. In 184 innings pitched, she struck out 243 batters while limiting opponents to just 99 hits during the season.
Her 243 strikeouts ranked among the national leaders, while her 22 complete games showcased her durability and consistency in the circle. Groninga also posted a 1.28 WHIP and averaged 9.24 strikeouts per seven innings.
The NAIA also announced its national award winners following the season. Analise Rayburn of Oklahoma City was selected as the 2026 NAIA Player of the Year, while Aubree Ferguson of Science & Arts earned NAIA Pitcher of the Year honors.
