NAIA Softball World Series Preview

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The 2025 NAIA Softball World Series is set to begin Thursday at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Georgia. Midland University is one of 10 teams vying for the national championship.

Midland, the No. 9 seed, earned its spot by winning the Klamath Falls Opening Round last week. The Warriors (40-16) will face eighth-seeded Grand View University (40-14) in the opening game of the tournament on Thursday at 9 a.m. CT. Midland earned an at-large bid to the national tournament after finishing as the regular-season runner-up in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Grand View claimed the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament title and went 3-1 in the Chickasha Bracket as the No. 2 seed.

Other first-round matchups include No. 3 Southern Oregon vs. No. 6 Marian (1 p.m.), No. 7 Eastern Oregon vs. No. 10 Reinhardt (4 p.m.), and No. 4 Oklahoma City vs. No. 5 Central Methodist (7 p.m.). Top-seeded Cumberlands and No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett will open play on Friday. [NAIA COVERAGE]
