Trio of Warriors Garner National Recognition

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022-23 Softball All-America teams. Midland University saw three players earn recognition from the selection committee with a pair of second-team award winners, Roni Foote and Emily Prai, also with Aliyah Rincon, who was named an honorable mention.

Foote, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, held down third base for the Warriors this season while hitting in the heart of the lineup. She had a .346 batting average with 54 runs batted in, 13 doubles, and 15 home runs. Roni finished the season tied for the career home run record, hitting 41 through three seasons.

Prai, a junior from Lincoln, Nebraska, roamed center field and batted from the leadoff spot. She had a .426 average while scoring 57 runs and stealing 22 bases, all team-bests. This season, she broke the school record for career stolen bases (62) and sits atop the career batting average list (.440) heading into her senior season.

Rincon, a junior from Granada Hills, California, was the ace of the pitching staff this season in the circle. She was the game-one starter during the regular season and started nearly every postseason game. She pitched 240.2 innings this season, setting a new program record, and finished the year with a 1.66 earned run average with 293 strikeouts.
