GPAC Releases Preseason Cross Country Polls
FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University men's and women's cross country teams are set to begin their 2025 campaigns with the release of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Coaches Polls.
The Warriors will open the season on Friday, September 5, at the Augustana Twilight in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The early-season test will kick off a slate that also includes the Greeno/Dirksen Invite in Lincoln, Nebraska, on September 20, along with additional regional meets that will prepare the team for championship season.
In the GPAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Midland's men's team was picked sixth, earning 59 points. Dordt University, the defending conference champion, was selected as the preseason favorite with 97 points and seven first-place votes. Doane (94 points, four first-place votes), Concordia (81), Northwestern (70), and Mount Marty (62) round out the top five.
On the women's side, the Warriors were tabbed eighth, collecting 50 points. Dordt, last year's champion, was also picked to defend its crown with 121 points and 11 first-place votes. College of Saint Mary (104 points, one first-place vote), Doane (103), Concordia (93), and Northwestern (78) hold the top five spots.
The 2025 GPAC Cross Country Championships are scheduled for Saturday, November 8, at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska, hosted by Doane University.
