Warriors Earn Top Ten Finish at Larry Young Invite
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Midland University competed at the Larry Young Invitational on Friday evening, placing 9th among 21 teams at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The meet, hosted by Columbia College, featured mostly NAIA schools previewing the course for the upcoming NAIA Championship in November.
Leading the Warriors was Lucas Hjortkjaer, who finished 30th in a time of 27:02.8. Henri Stoeckermann followed in 41st with a time of 27:24.1. Braden Taylor (27:47.3) finished 54th while Koen Steenblok (27:55.3) placed 62nd. Jonathan Mahoney (28:08.5) rounded out Midland's top five in 68th.
Also competing for Midland were Kelvin Korir (29:52.0, 132nd), Adrian Imm (29:53.6, 134th), Christen Olsen (31:21.3, 173rd), and Jay Stoa III (32:17.2, 183rd). A total of 218 runners completed the 8k race.
Up next, the Warriors will compete in the Seminole Valley Stampede on Saturday, October 5. The race will be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at Seminole Valley Park.
