Warriors Post Strong Results at Concordia Collegiate Open
SEWARD, Neb. – Midland University turned in a series of standout performances at the Concordia Collegiate Open on Saturday in Seward, Nebraska. While the meet did not feature official team or individual standings, the Warriors gained valuable experience in their first meet of the season.
On the women's side, Brylee Batiste led the way in the 100-kilogram class, totaling 507.5 kilograms after successful lifts of 200 kg in the squat, 90 kg in the bench press, and 217.5 kg in the deadlift. Terriny Pace (100+ kg) also surpassed the 200 kg mark in the squat on her way to a 480 kg total, while Taylor Smith followed closely with a 472.5 kg total. Other notable performances came from Leah Warner, who posted a 445 kg total in the 90 kg class, and Hannah Hernandez, who lifted 310 kg in the 56 kg class.
Midland's men were equally strong, highlighted by a dominant performance from Joseph Rolen in the 125 kg class. Rolen compiled a meet-high 780 kg total, with lifts of 285 kg in the squat, 165 kg in the bench, and 330 kg in the deadlift. Jayden Ibarra impressed in the 75 kg class with a 650 kg total, and Logan Miller topped the 700 kg mark in the 90 kg class with a 705 kg total. Javier Martinez (655 kg) and Kai Janice (637.5 kg) both excelled in the 82.5 kg division, while Sammy Tramonte lifted 502.5 kg in the 60 kg class.
Up next, Midland will host the Collegiate Cup Series – Nebraska on November 22-23 in Fremont.
