Trio of Warriors Earn Academic All-America Honors
AUSTIN, Texas – The CSC Academic All-America Teams were announced today by the College Sports Communicators. Midland University saw a program-high three student-athletes earn the honor for their efforts on the court and in the classroom.
Tycho Janssen was named to the Academic All-America First Team while Luca Struffi and Nunzio Thiel were both named to the Second Team.
"Tycho, Luca, and Nunzio have a special place in my heart because I have known and coached them for four years," commented head coach Bruno Campos. "I have seen them grow from boys into men and they have set the example not only in the classrooms but also on the court for our team. They played a major role in establishing the culture and success of the program to where it is today. The three of them have won multiple academic/athletic awards in the past four years and I know they will succeed in whatever they decide to pursue in the near future. As a coach, I cannot be any prouder of these student-athletes, and I know they will always have the Warrior spirit in them. Go Warriors!"
During their time on campus, they helped guide the Warriors to an impressive 18-0 conference record. Midland won three GPAC regular-season and postseason championships, earning a berth in the NAIA Championship each season.
