FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University hosted No. 10 William Penn University in a Heart of America Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday evening. In the conference home opener for the Warriors, it was the Statesmen that asserted their dominance, earning the dominant 26-0 win at Heedum Field.
William Penn started strong, scoring eight goals in the first quarter to take an early advantage. The Statesmen maintained their momentum in the second quarter, adding eight more goals to build a commanding 16-0 lead at halftime. They outshot Midland 37-8 in the first half.
After the intermission, William Penn remained relentless, netting seven goals in the third quarter to extend its lead to 23-0. The Warriors held the Statesmen to just three goals in the final period, but the deficit proved insurmountable as William Penn secured the 26-0 victory.

Midland (0-7, 0-3 HOAA) will host Missouri Valley (0-2, 0-2 HOAA) on Saturday in another conference matchup. The game is set for 4 p.m. on March 29 back at Heedum Field in Fremont.
