Warriors Tie for Sixth at Iowa Central Spring Invite
FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University returned to the course over the weekend, competing at the Iowa Central Spring Invite in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Friday and Saturday. The Warriors finished tied for sixth place with a two-round total of 25-over par.
Midland opened the tournament with a 17-over team score before improving to 8-over in the second round.
Individually, the Warriors were led by Trevin Cunningham and Janlo Zaayman, who tied for 10th place in a field of 97 golfers. Cunningham rebounded from a first-round 5-over to fire a tournament-best 3-under in the second round. He carded six birdies in the round, including three straight on holes 11, 12, and 13.
Zaayman delivered consistent play across both rounds, carding a 2-over in the opening round followed by an even-par performance, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 15th hole.
Isaiah Weber finished 52nd overall with rounds of 8-over and 4-over for a 12-over total, while Cole Dryak placed 61st after posting back-to-back rounds of 7-over for a 14-over total. Brady Davis rounded out the Warrior lineup, finishing 72nd with a 3-over in the first round and a 13-over in the second.
Midland will look to carry its momentum into the postseason as it prepares for the GPAC Championship, set for April 20-21 in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota.
