Warriors Place 13th in Loaded NAIA Preview

SILVIS, Ill. - Midland University was back on the course for some early week action on Monday and Tuesday as they competed in the NAIA Midwest Invitational. Playing on the course at TPC Deere Run, the Warriors placed 13th as a team shooting +62 in the two-day, two-round event.

Janlo Zaayman was the highest finisher for the Warriors. He tied for 33rd after shooting +10 (152), highlighted by three birdies on Monday in a round where he shot even par (72). Ben Ngelingknog followed close behind, tied for 45th with a +14 (156). Rounding out the Midland lineup were Billy Lyons at +18 (160) and Brady Davis with +22 (164).

Mount Mercy's Theo Baker won the individual event by five strokes, shooting -6 (136) and propelling his team to the title with overall with an overall score of +14, two strokes in front of Marian University.

Next up for Midland will be the Mount Marty Invite. The Warriors will join several other schools from the area on September 30 and October 1 at the Tatanka Golf Course in Yankton, South Dakota.
