Pair of Warriors Earn All-GPAC Golf Honors
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Honors for the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Golf Season have been announced. The GPAC All-Conference Team for 2023-24 was voted on by the coaches at the conclusion of the season and considered the entire season of results.
Ethan Blair and Ben Ngelingkong were both honored by the coaches for their results from the 2023-2024 season. Blair, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, was the top golfer for the Warriors at this year's GPAC Championship. During the regular season, he had three top-ten placings with an eight-place finish at the Mount Marty Invite and the Nebraska Intercollegiate. After beginning the tournament with an opening round of 71 (-1), he placed 13th. Ngelingkong, a junior from Kuching, Malaysia, had a strong season with four top-ten finishes which included a runner-up at the NAIA Midwest Invitation during the fall.
The top ten vote earners are considered first team, with the next five (including ties) being named second team. An honorable mention list was also created based on minimum votes from the coaches.
Jackson Laven from Northwestern College was named the GPAC Men's Golf Player of the Year, while Edgar Eriksson from Morningside University was selected as the Newcomer of the Year. Aaron Aberson from Northwestern was named GPAC Coach of the Year.
