Warriors Place Fourth at Bates Shaw Memorial

WICHITA, Kan. – Midland University took to the links at the Crestview Country Club for the 36-hole Bates Shaw Memorial on Monday and Tuesday. The Warriors placed fourth as a team with a score of 915 with a pair of golfers in the top 15.

Billy Lyons and Cole Wilson led the way for Midland as they battled the elements. Lyons shot a 226 (+10) while Wilson was one stroke behind at 227 (+11).

Ben Ngelingkong (228, +12), Ethan Blair (234, +18), Jacob Hellman (241, +25), and Jaylin Jakub (246, +30) rounded out the lineup for the Warriors.

Park University won the team title with a score of 883 while Jax Brewer of the University of Science and Arts won the individual title with a 213 (-3).

Up next for Midland will be the NAIA Midwest Invitational. That event is set for September 25-26 in Silvis, Illinois.
