Warriors Wrap Up Semester at Vegas Tournaments
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Midland University traveled one final time before the new year, competing in a pair of tournaments in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning on Thursday and running through Sunday. The Warriors opened the trip at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational before closing the weekend at the Collegiate Shootout.
At the Glenn Carlson Invitational, Midland finished 36th out of 60 teams with a total pinfall of 7,697. The Warriors then concluded the weekend at the Collegiate Shootout with a 14th-place finish out of 61 teams, recording a total pinfall of 8,453.
Individually at the Glenn Carlson Invitational, Cole Macaluso led the Warriors, finishing 60th out of 498 bowlers. Macaluso eclipsed the 200 mark in four of his eight games, totaling 1,629 pins for an average of 203.6. Kaeden White was Midland's next-best finisher, placing 139th with a total pinfall of 1,467 and an average of 183.4 over eight games. White surpassed 200 three times and added games of 157, 163, 166, 174, and 185.
Jack Pearson rounded out the Warriors' top three finishers, placing 151st with a total pinfall of 1,443 in seven games for an average of 206.1. Pearson recorded three games over 200, highlighted by a score of 266 in his fifth game, before closing with games of 198 and 194. Nolan Pepper was the final Warrior to finish inside the top 200, earning 192nd place after posting a pinfall of 1,327 in seven games for an average of 189.6.
Pearson then paced Midland over the final two days at the Collegiate Shootout, finishing 81st out of 478 bowlers with a pinfall of 1,022 in five games for an average of 204.4. He bowled four games over 200 before closing with a score of 166 in his fifth and final game. Pepper followed closely behind, finishing 92nd after recording two games over 200, including a high game of 268. He totaled 1,011 pins over five games for an average of 202.2.
Cephus Beatty earned a 113th-place finish with a total pinfall of 980 and an average of 196. White averaged 190.2 over five games and totaled 951 pins to finish 132nd. Rounding out the Midland bowlers inside the top 200 was Michael Saxton, who competed in four games and averaged 211.5, finishing with a total pinfall of 846 for 193rd place.
The Warriors will take a brief break from competition before returning to action Feb. 7–8, 2026, at the NAIA West Open I and II in Lawrence, Kan.
