Warriors Battle to Fourth-Place at KCAC Championship

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Midland University competed in the KCAC Championship over the weekend, finishing fourth out of seven teams. The Warriors were eliminated in the double-elimination bracket by eventual champion Kansas Wesleyan University.

Midland entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed, facing No. 6 seed Morningside in the opening round. The Warriors fell to the Mustangs, dropping into the consolation bracket.

They responded with victories over No. 7 seed University of Saint Mary and No. 1 seed Hastings before falling to No. 5 seed Kansas Wesleyan, ending their tournament run.

Kansas Wesleyan went on to claim the championship. After losing to No. 4 seed Avila in the first round, the Coyotes won three straight games in the consolation bracket before defeating Avila twice to secure the KCAC title.

Midland will compete next at the USBC Sectionals in Addison, Illinois, on March 7-9.
