Bio

Joe Schlager joined the Women’s Flag Football program as Graduate Assistant Coach in January 2022. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Sport Management.

Schlager played running back for the Coyotes, who are members of the Division-1 FCS, Missouri Valley Football Conference. After his playing career, he served a season on staff assisting with the Colorado State Rams Football program.

Schlager primarily coached the special teams, interior defense, and offensive backfield in his first season with Midland. He will primarily coach and coordinate the Warrior's offense in year two.

Joe is originally from McCook, Nebraska, and played for Head Coach, Jeff Gross. His father, Russ, coached the McCook defense and played collegiately at Fort Lewis College. Brother, Jake played Safety at Colorado State, and brother, Zach plays Linebacker at Nebraska-Kearney.
