Warriors’ Season Ends in Conference Tournament
OTTAWA, Kan. – (RV) Midland University saw its season end in the quarterfinals of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Tournament on Friday at AdventHealth Field. The fourth-seeded Warriors were defeated by fifth-seeded Graceland University, 24-6.
Midland trailed 12-0 at halftime but cut the deficit to 12-6 on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Lotta Wulff to Holiness Hodges with 8:31 remaining in the third quarter. The Yellowjackets responded with an offensive touchdown and an interception return for a score to put the game out of reach.
The Warriors ran 45 plays for 212 yards of total offense, completing 26 of 40 passes for 210 yards. On the ground, Midland rushed five times for two yards.
Graceland totaled 244 yards on 52 plays, completing 28 of 43 passes for 185 yards while adding 59 rushing yards on nine carries.
Individually for Midland, Wulff completed 25 of 39 passes for 187 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. Allaya Livingston rushed twice for 11 yards. Olivia Dominguez-Millsop led the receiving corps with six catches for 74 yards, while Hodges added eight receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Alyssa Butler recorded six flag pulls, and Dominguez-Millsop added three stops and an interception.
For Graceland, Sierra Flores completed 28 of 43 passes for 189 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Jaida Lamme rushed three times for 32 yards and added nine receptions for 41 yards. Delaney Mondino had three catches for 41 yards, while Makayla Brown recorded four receptions for 37 yards and two touchdowns. Ahmari Byrd added seven catches for 29 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Sadie Lee recorded seven flag pulls, including a sack. Fe Kinville added four stops and two interceptions, and Mondino returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown.
Graceland advanced to face the No. 1 seed and NAIA No. 2-ranked Ottawa University on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the tournament semifinals. Midland ends the season with an 11-6 record.
