Warriors Announce 2026 Football Schedule
FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University has officially announced its schedule for the 2026 season. The Warriors will open the campaign with a marquee nonconference matchup on Thursday, Aug. 27, hosting Dickinson State under the lights at Heedum Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Blue Hawks have been one of the NAIA's most consistent programs in recent years, regularly competing in the national playoffs. The season opener will provide an early measuring stick for a Midland squad looking to build upon the program's tradition of success.
"Starting off the year with a Thursday night home game against Dickinson State sets a great tone," Jamrog said. "Dickinson State is a perennial power and a regular playoff team. It's going to be a tough, physical test right out of the gate, and playing under our new lights gives us a fantastic early-season spotlight to see where we stand."
Following the season opener, Midland begins Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) play with back-to-back home games against Waldorf on Sept. 5 and Dakota Wesleyan on Sept. 26. The Warriors will also host Dordt (Oct. 3), Hastings (Oct. 24), and Morningside (Oct. 31) during conference action.
Road trips include visits to Briar Cliff (Sept. 12), Northwestern (Sept. 19), Mount Marty (Oct. 17), Doane (Nov. 7), and Concordia (Nov. 14).
Midland's lone bye week falls on Oct. 10 before the Warriors enter the final stretch of GPAC competition.
Jamrog believes the work completed during the spring has positioned the program well heading into the summer months.
"We have a few new faces this year, but spring ball was incredibly productive," Jamrog said. "The coaching staff has done a great job implementing schemes, and the returning players have really stepped up to lead.
"Over the summer, we're looking forward to seeing our guys take ownership in the weight room and continue building that locker-room chemistry. When fall camp opens, the main focus will be translating our summer conditioning and playbook knowledge into live, physical execution so we can hit the ground running by game week."
Midland has posted ten consecutive winning seasons under Coach Jamrog, going 64-42 during his tenure. Since 2016, the Warriors have been the winningest program in the state of Nebraska (.604 pct).
