Denkert Earns GPAC Weekly Special Teams Honor

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its football players of the week for games played the week of September 30- October 6, 2024. Midland University's Tyson Denkert was selected as the GPAC Special Teams Player of the Week while Kaden Harken of Dordt University and Carson Fehlhafer of Concordia University were honored as offensive and defensive standouts, respectively.

Denkert, a junior from Kennesaw, Nebraska, had an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown in Midland's 28-14 win at Waldorf. He accounted for 281 all-purpose yards and had a hand in 3 of the 4 Warrior touchdowns. He had a touchdown run and threw for a score in addition to his second punt return for a touchdown of the season. This season, he is averaging 203.8 all-purpose yards per game (best in GPAC).

This coming weekend, Midland will travel to Sioux City, Iowa, to take on Briar Cliff on October 12.  Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Field.
