Six Warrior football players named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced last month that 312 football student-athletes have been named 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Midland University was represented on the list by six players: Patrick Cleary, MeKota Fogg, Cody King, Cody Placzek, John Riedmiller and Taylor Standerford.

Standerford was also honored at the conclusion of the 2015 season as an All-GPAC Honorable Mention recipient for his play on the field. The secondary education major with a math concentration has compiled a 3.83 cumulative G.P.A.

Cleary, a business administration and management major, has a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.93.

Fogg, a double major in business administration/marketing and history, has a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.62.

King, a senior secondary education major, has a 3.58 cumulative G.P.A.

Pleczak, a criminal justice major, also has a cumulative 3.58 G.P.A. at Midland.

Riedmiller will graduate in the spring with an elementary education degree and has a 3.52 G.P.A.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
