Esports Update - March 2
FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University Esports competed in Hearthstone, Overwatch, and Valorant this past week, going a 1-3 overall. The Warriors are competing this semester in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) and the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE).
Hearthstone
Midland dropped a 1-0 decision to Messiah College this past Tuesday and a 3-0 game on Friday to Dartmouth College. The Warriors record fell to 1-3 in NACE play and 0-3 in the NECC.
This week they'll take on Randolph College in NACE at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Johnson & Wales University in NECC play on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
Valorant
In Valorant, the Warriors fell 2-0 to Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday evening. This spring their record sits at 0-3. With one-third of the season in the books, the Warriors will look to regroup. They'll be back in action this Wednesday with a match against Tiffin University at 5:30 p.m. The Dragons are 1-2 on the year.
Overwatch
Midland rebounded with a decisive 3-0 win over Boise State University in Overwatch this past week. The Warriors improved to 2-1 on the season and have another battle with the Broncos on tap for this week. BSU is fielding a pair of teams in the game. This week's game is against their No. 1 squad. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday night.
