Midland eSports Weekly Recap: Oct. 18-24
FREMONT, Neb. – Midland's eSports team continued play in both Overwatch and Hearthstone this past week in tournaments hosted by Tespa and NACE.
Overwatch went 1-1 in the Tespa Collegiate Series this week. They fell to Algonquin College 0-2 then defeated Fort Hays State 2-0. Up next for the Warriors is a matchup with Marquette and Morningside.
In the prelims of the NACE, the Overwatch team picked up their second win by defeating Stephens College, 2-0. They are now 2-3 in their group with three rounds to go. They'll take on South Carolina-Sumter next week.
"Overwatch was able to pull off two wins. We made some role changes which lead to better positioning and communication," coach Ben Nabity commented. "Riley Kellom playing 'Soldier 76' lead the team in damage dealt and overall KDA."
Hearthstone won via a forfeit this week against Pikeville. They are now 2-3 overall in Hearthstone Training Grounds (Tespa). They'll take on Iowa State this week in the sixth round of the seven round tournament.
