NAIA Dance Championship Preview
TOPEKA, Kan. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) will host the 2026 Competitive Dance National Championship this weekend in Topeka, Kansas. Midland University will participate in the annual event for the tenth straight season. Preliminary rounds will take place on Friday, March 27, with finals the following day inside the Stormont Vail Events Center.
The dance prelims are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. The Warriors are scheduled to perform seventh on the opening day, at approximately 8:00 p.m. The schedule for finals will be based on preliminary scores. Prelim scores count as 25% of the overall score, while finals scores make up the final 75%.
Finals for the dance competition will get underway at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, with the awards ceremony scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
Midland is making its tenth appearance at the national championship and is looking for a fourth Red Banner. The Warriors won the 2025 NAIA Championship and earned their way back to defend their title by winning this season's GPAC Championship, which also served as the NAIA Qualifier. This season the Warriors have placed first in four of their competitions this season.
