Warriors Bring Home Third Consecutive GPAC Championship

ORANGE CITY, Iowa — Midland University traveled to Orange City, Iowa, to compete in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors completed the three-peat, bringing home the 2026 GPAC Championship title for the third consecutive year.

Midland started strong, earning top marks from the judges in the preliminary round with a score of 94.21 — 6.53 points ahead of its opponents. Concordia finished second with an 87.68, while Doane placed third with an 87.37.

The Warriors delivered another strong performance in the finals round, improving their score by 1.6 points to finish with a 95.41.

With the final score calculated as 25% from the preliminaries and 75% from the finals, Midland finished with an overall score of 95.41 to reclaim the GPAC title for the third straight year.

Erin Sibbald also completed a three-peat, earning GPAC Dance Coach of the Year honors.

Meredith Ehlenfield earned the 2026 GPAC Dancer of the Year award.

The Warriors had 11 dancers earn GPAC All-Conference honors. Peighton Adkins and Natalie Burk were named to the second team. Meredith Ehlenfield, Mack Dacci, Jocelyn Law, Sophia Anderson, Juliana Spencer, Joslyn Samuelson, Madison Ward, Georgie Oedekoven and Hannah Tappouras earned first-team honors.

They take on every challenge with grace and grit, and the love and support they have for each other truly shines every time they step onto the floor. We're excited to keep this momentum going and can't wait to represent Midland on the Nationals floor! A huge shoutout to this hardworking group for bringing home two second team and nine first team honors, and Meredith Ehlenfield for being named GPAC Dancer of the Year!" commented head coach Erin Sibbald. 

The Warriors will now have a few weeks to prepare for the NAIA National Championship, which will take place March 27–28 in Topeka, Kansas. Competition times will be announced at a later date.
