Warrior Wildfire Take Third at Nationals

Daytona Beach, Fla. - Midland University dance landed a third place finish in the NAIA Small College Dance division at the NDA National Collegiate Dance Championships on Friday. Midland was free of deductions in their finals performance, finishing with a score of 8.196.

"The entire team was inspired and completely committed to making this year count, and the performance at finals was the best I had ever seen the routine performed," said Trish Ryan, Midland University dance head coach. "All of the teams in the finals category were talented, but in the end, it came down to what the judges were looking for. Winning third place is a huge improvement for the team, and I could not be more proud of how far they have come this year."

The Warrior Wildfire Dancers jumped straight to the finals after a strong preliminary performance on Thursday. Midland University carried momentum into Friday's national finals, finishing in third place behind only Wayland Baptist University and Baker University. Midland ended the competition just a fraction out of first and second as the competition's champion, Baker, finished with a score of 8.30.

The third place national finish caps 2012 competition for Midland University.
