No. 6 Warriors Bounce Back with Win Over No. 2 Maryville

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – No. 6-ranked Midland University took the ice against No. 2 Maryville University on Saturday in its final game of the Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) Showcase. The Warriors got back into the win column with a 2-1 victory over the Saints.

After a scoreless first period, the Warriors trailed early in the second. However, they quickly responded with a surge of their own. Sky Thompson leveled the score with an even-strength goal, assisted by Darbi Poole and Brynn Tosh. Just minutes later, Keagan Shearer capitalized on a power-play opportunity to give Midland the lead. Katie McNair and Grace Page recorded assists on what proved to be the game-winning goal.

Midland outshot Maryville 19-14, with goaltender Meghan Stewart stopping 13 shots to secure the win. The victory marked a strong conclusion for the Warriors at the WMCH Showcase.

Midland (8-5) will aim to carry this momentum into a two-game road series against Minnesota (0-7) next weekend. The Warriors and Golden Gophers are set to face off at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis on Nov. 16-17.
