ACHA Announces National Awards and Teams
TROY, Mich. – The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) announced its All-ACHA Teams as well as its postseason awards. Midland University was well represented with a pair of first-team members while Jason White was named the ACHA Women's Division 1 Coach of the Year and Kayla Flanigan earned ACHA WD1 Player of the Year honors.
Flanigan, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, was named to the All-ACHA First team as well as being named the Player of the Year. She finished the regular season with 14 goals and a division-best 32 assists, ranking 2nd in points with 46. In the national tournament, she added a goal and an assist during the Warriors' two games in St. Louis.
Hannah Stone was also named to the All-ACHA First Team at the goalie position. She appeared in 22 games this season in goal with an 18-2-2 record. She picked up 412 saves while putting up a save percentage of .938. Additionally, she put up five shutouts this season. Last year, Stone was awarded the 2023 ACHA Player of the Year award.
White, who just wrapped up his 7th season with Midland, set a new program record for wins in a season at 30-2-2. During the season, the Warriors spent several weeks atop the ACHA Rankings following its home sweep of Liberty. They were runners-up to the Flames in the conference tournament and then reached the ACHA national semifinals, where they fell to eventual champion Adrian. This was White's third national award and second in a row.
