Jessica Laidlaw Signs as the First Commit with Midland University Women's Ice Hockey
Fremont, Neb. - The Midland University women's ice hockey team made a historic step towards its inaugural season by signing Jessica Laidlaw, the first official signee of the program.
"This is a very important signing for us," said Jason Cirone, who is overseeing the the development of both hockey programs at Midland. "Not only did Jessica help us make history at Midland by being the first signee, but she is very talented on the defensive side of the ice and will be valuable asset on the roster."
Laidlaw hails from Brookings, S.D. where she plays on the varsity team of the Brookings Rangers. She attends Brookings High School and is the daughter of Neil and Susan Laidlaw.
"I'm really excited to be a member of a first year program at Midland," quoted Laidlaw. "I can't wait to start my collegiate career in the fall and get to practicing with my new teammates."
Laidlaw will join the freshman class of 2014 in the fall.
