Warriors Drop Weekend Series at Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. — Midland University was back in action this weekend as they traveled to face the University of Jamestown in a pair of conference games. The Warriors dropped a pair of Midwest College Hockey (MCH) games to the Jimmies, falling 4-1 on Friday and 5-0 on Saturday.

FRIDAY: Jamestown 4, Midland 1

In the weekend's first game, the Warriors struck first with Milan Breczko finding the back of the net off an assist from Zak Justice at the 17:43 mark of the first period. However, the Jimmies quickly responded, tying the game with a goal at 18:30.

Jamestown took the lead in the second period with a shorthanded goal midway through, and they added two more in the third—a power-play goal at 12:51 and an empty-netter with 1:12 remaining to secure the 4-1 victory.

Midland was outshot 45 to 26 while both sides were whistled for seven minor penalties. Liam Tereposky made 41 saves in the loss.

SATURDAY: Jamestown 5, Midland 0

In the final, Jamestown took control early with a late goal in the first period. The Jimmies tacked on three goals in the second, including a power-play tally. They added a fifth goal early in the third period and skated to the weekend conference sweep.

For the second straight night, Liam Tereposky once again made 41 saves. Midland could not solve the Jimmies' defense, as their goaltender stopped all 24 shots he faced for the clean sheet.

Midland (1-3, 0-2 MCH) will be back in action next week with three games in the St. Louis Metro. On Thursday, the Warriors will face Maryville (3-0-1) at 8:15 p.m. in Chesterfield, Missouri On Friday and Saturday, they'll travel to Lebanon, Illinois for two games with McKendree (2-3-0, 1-1-0 MCH). Games are set for 7:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to close out the weekend road trip.
