Atwater Earns Top Honor; Eleven Warriors Named All-GPAC
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its honors for the 2025 men's indoor track and field season. Midland University had 11 athletes earn all-conference recognition based on their performances at last week's GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Additionally, Robert Atwater was named the GPAC Male Athlete of the Year after a standout performance in multiple events.
Atwater, a senior from Detroit, Michigan, won the long jump, high jump, and heptathlon at the meet while setting several records. He established new marks in the long jump (7.51m) and two heptathlon events (long jump and high jump). His long jump effort was also recognized as the Men's Field Performance of the Meet.
Joining him on the All-GPAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Team were:

- Raheem Richards (So. / Kingston, Jamaica / 200m, 400m)
- Evan Shepard (Sr. / Ashland, Neb. / 60m Hurdles)
- Koen Steenblok (Fr. / Heinkenszand, Netherlands / 800m, 4x800m Relay)
- Henri Stoeckermann (Sr. / Kayh, Germany / 1,000m, 4x800m Relay)
- Braden Taylor (Jr. / Fremont, Neb. / 4x800m Relay)

Additionally, Atwater was named the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year on Thursday. This marks the fifth-straight season the award has gone to a Midland athlete [release].
